Allen & Overy’s Morley moves to NY" />Allen & Overy (A&O) senior partner David Morley is seconding to the firm’s New York office.
Morley is set to relocate to New York full-time by the end of this month, where he will stay for three months.
Managing partner Wim Dejonghe said: “David spending more time there is a commitment from the partnership to the US market.”
Dejonghe will spend half of his time in A&O’s London office to make up for Morley’s absence, spending the other half of his time in A&O’s international offices.
“The growth opportunities outside the UK are more substantial than they are in the UK,” he said.
Dejonghe has now relocated to London from Belgium after a two-month whistle stop tour of 28 of the firm’s 29 offices, following his inauguration as managing partner on 30 April (as reported on TheLawyer.com27 February).
He is set to visit Bratislava next week to meet the firm’s new Romanian alliance (as reported on TheLawyer.com 29 May 2008).
