The group was set up earlier this month to advise the Mayor on how to maintain London’s position as a leading business powerhouse.

IBAC London consists of around 50 London business leaders, meeting for the first time on 5 October. Sir Martin Sorrell, CEO of marketing conglomerate WPP, will chair the first session.

Morley said: “It is a real privilege to be invited to participate in this group. London is one of the leading centres for global legal services so we have an important contribution to make to the work of the Council.

"In the business of law it is vital that we attract and retain the best people from across the globe, so we have a vested interest in ensuring that London is both an attractive prospect for international business and a City in which our people want to live and work.”
