•Brussels-based Lontings & Partners has changed its name to Lydian as the final step of its transformation into a standalone business law firm. Lydian, which was founded in 2001 as the Belgian branch of international network KLegal, has seen partner Dirk Lontings depart the firm. As such, the firm is no longer offering services in the non-profit and trade associations sectors, a niche speciality of Lontings. The firm has brought in Peter De Ryck as a partner in its corporate and finance department. The name Lydian is a jazz music term meaning 'note system' or 'touchstone', the backbone that jazz musicians rely on for jam sessions. Managing partner Alexander Vandenbergen said the firm can, in the same way, be the backbone to its clients' business ventures.
