Irish firm A&L Goodbody is opening an office on the West Coast of the US, relocating two partners to Palo Alto.
Paul Fahy and John Whelan will move to California to head the new venture, which builds on the firm’s existing presence in New York.
A&L Goodbody is the third Irish firm to establish an office in California. Rivals William Fry and Matheson Ormsby Prentice are already present in Palo Alto. The firms are seeking to leverage off a growing boom in technology investment into Ireland, which has attracted companies such as Google and Facebook to set up operations within the past few years.
Whelan heads A&L Goodbody’s IP and technology group, while Fahy is a tax partner.
Earlier this year the firm relocated Clan McCourt to its New York office as resident partner.
