The Lawyer Global Litigation Top 50 report is the only ranking of international law firms by litigation and arbitration revenue and is essential reading for anyone seeking to benchmark their litigation and dispute resolution practices...
This year, The Lawyer’s annual ranking of the largest UK law firms by turnover is available as an interactive, digital benchmarking tool. For the first time this will allow you to manipulate each data set against the metrics of your choice.
Mid-size City firm Theodore Goddard is set to tie the knot on 1 May with northern giant Addleshaw Booth & Co, creating the 16th largest firm in the UK based on turnover.
As reported in February's Lawyer 2B Theodore Goddard, which was recently instructed by pop star Michael Jackson to advise him on the controversial Martin Bashir interview, short-listed CMS Cameron McKenna and Addleshaws as potential suitors. And on St Valentine's Day, the firm confirmed that its partners had voted unanimously to enter exclusive merger talks with Addleshaws.
'Existing trainees would continue their contracts within the merged firms' Addleshaw Booth & Co
The impact of the merger on trainees, present and future, of either firm is not yet clear. One of the key issues is whether or not Theodores' trainees will be expected to spend time in Addleshaws' offices in Leeds and Manchester. A further issue is how the salaries of trainees and newly-qualified solicitors will be aligned, although Lawyer 2B understands that the differences are marginal.
An Addleshaws spokesperson said: "Existing trainees would continue to complete their training contracts within the merged firms and the opportunities presented for newly-qualified staff should be, in due course, enhanced within the enlarged firms."
