Addleshaw Goddard is expected to move into new offices at Milton Gate in the City as early as next year.
Addleshaw Goddard is expected to move into new offices at Milton Gate in the City as early as next year so that it may expand its capability in the capital.
Addleshaws is currently in discussions with UBS, the owner of the 200,000 square feet building, to lease the entire building, although a deal has yet to be finalised.
The firm declined to comment on the Milton Gate negotiations, but a spokesperson reiterated that it has "always been its ambition [for the firm] to be under one roof in London in 2009".
The firm's London offering of 540 staff, who are currently split between the property and banking groups in Noble Street and the remaining practice groups in the larger Aldersgate Street offices, is looking for more room and Miltongate would offer almost double the current capacity. Aldersgate has 80,000 square feet and Noble Street has 46,000. The firm also has a reinsurance litigation practice based in Lime Street, which will be unaffected by the move.
The new offices are located close to Moorgate and completed an extensive refitting in September 2007.
The Lawyer understands that in addition to changes in London, the firm is considering reorganising office space in Leeds and Manchester.
