Addleshaws scoops Lovells corporate partner

Addleshaw Goddard has bolstered its corporate practice with the hire Lovells partner Charles Penney.

Penney, who is joining Addleshaws London office as a partner, has been a partner at Lovells since 1990. He was also secretary to the Takeover Panel between 1992 and 1994 and resident managing partner of Lovells’ New York office between 1999 and 2000.

Penney’s notable deals include advising on the US aspects of Exxon Corporation’s merger with Mobil and Granada’s hostile bid for Forte.

Addleshaws’ corporate practice comprises 34 partners, with 15 based in the firm’s London office.
