Addleshaws rejigs arbitration with new boss

Addleshaw Goddard has appointed contentious partner Simon Kamstra to be the new head of international arbitration.

Kamstra specialises in a range of areas including shareholder and company disputes and international arbitration.

The firm’s arbitration practice is a large and successful area for the firm with 40 lawyers in the London, Manchester and Leeds offices.

Partner Simon Kamstra, commented: “Arbitration is a major growth area for us and it is an identified targeted area that we are really investing heavily in.”

Over the last three years the arbitration group has been instructed on claims exceeding $1.2billion and regularly advises on arbitration disputes with claims of over $50m.

Kamstra said: “It is a very busy time for us and I have been spending time working with our preferred partners internationally. I am pleased that we are able to show what a mature and powerful practice we have.”
