Addleshaws centralises housing units

Addleshaw Booth & Co is taking the next step towards refocusing the firm's business by leasing a building specifically designed for its housing department in Leeds.

The firm has taken out an 18-year lease for the 18,826 sq ft Cardinal House, which can accommodate 500 staff.

The housing department is currently split between the David Street and Sovereign House offices in Leeds and the Pall Mall offices in Manchester.

The expansion comes just a month after the firm closed its debt recovery unit, which is part of its recoveries management business, to concentrate on the housing sector.

At the time Mark Jones, managing partner at Addleshaws, said the firm would attempt to re-employ staff from the defunct debt recovery unit in the housing department.

The Pall Mall office will temporarily relocate to the David Street offices by the end of the year.

The move to Cardinal House will take place in February 2000.
