Addleshaw Goddard has expanded its pensions practice with the hire of its first London-based partner in that group.
Addleshaws has hired Freshfields Bruckhaus Deringer pensions senior associate Catherine McAllister as partner, plugging a gap and giving the practice a partner in each of the firm’s offices.
McAllister becomes just the fourth pensions partner for the firm, the first in London, and the 11th fee-earner.
Leeds-based partner Rachel Rawnsley heads Addleshaw’s practice, while Manchester’s Jo Ratcliffe is based in Manchester. Partner Jade Murray is also based in Leeds.
An Addleshaws spokesman told The Lawyer: “It is an area companies are placing an increasingly high priority upon. Previously we have been able to source this work out of our Manchester and Leeds offices, but we saw an opportunity to support the corporate function out of London.”
