Addleshaw hires Ashurst partner for London competition push

Addleshaw Goddard has poached well-known Ashurst competition partner Mark Clough QC as part of the firm’s strategy to expand its behavioural and contentious competition practice.

Clough, one of the few solicitor-advocate QCs active in the competition sphere, has been a partner at Ashurst for 10 years.

Addleshaws’ competition, trade and regulatory (CTR) group head, Jonathan Davey, said the firm had identified competition litigation as a key growth area. Clough will become the eighth partner in Addleshaws’ CTR group.

Davey said Clough would also work outside the contentious sphere, advising on merger control, behavioural competition law and public procurement.

“Mark will play a key role in developing our profile in the London marketplace where we have identified significant growth potential,” he said.
