Acquisitive Oracle set to boost legal team by one

Oracle is looking to bolster its UK legal team as the company's growth strategy puts more pressure on the legal department.

UK legal director David Hudson is interviewing for a new recruit to add to his four-lawyer team, which covers the UK, Ireland, South Africa and now Israel.

Business restructuring within the US software company has meant that Hudson and his team have taken on responsibility for Israel, which now reports in to the UK.

The legal team's workload has grown since Oracle put in place an aggressive growth strategy. The Oracle UK legal team is working on four different potential acquisitions in the run-up to the Christmas break, including moves for tech companies Sunopsis, MetaSolv and Stellant.

The company has grown rapidly in the last year, acquiring businesses around the globe and adding $1bn (£523.37m) to its $4.9bn (£2.56bn) revenue.
