The Lawyer Global Litigation Top 50 report is the only ranking of international law firms by litigation and arbitration revenue and is essential reading for anyone seeking to benchmark their litigation and dispute resolution practices...
This year, The Lawyer’s annual ranking of the largest UK law firms by turnover is available as an interactive, digital benchmarking tool. For the first time this will allow you to manipulate each data set against the metrics of your choice.
Global consultancy giant Accenture is revamping its in-house legal function to create a dedicated management consultancy team.
The management consulting and integrated markets unit is to be headed by Donald Hamilton, Accenture's former director of legal services for Northern Europe. The team currently has two lawyers, but Hamilton said he will build that up over time.
As part of the transition Hamilton has handed the reins of the UK legal capability to Accenture's global legal head for financial services Patrick Rowe. Responsibility for Russia has passed to Accenture's Italian and Europe, Middle East and Africa legal team.
Further handovers will take place in the coming weeks, with responsibility for Ireland also passing to Rowe.
The creation of the new legal team ties in with Hamilton's plans to reduce dependence on external firms.
"We want more work done in-house," said Hamilton. "We're looking to achieve an 80:20 ratio of in-house and external work."
As part of the panel review Hamilton's successor will measure whether external firms previously received equal amounts of work from Accenture. This will allow him to gauge whether any roles are effectively redundant.
