Life sciences venture capital group Abingworth has appointed Slaughter and May lawyer Claire Wilkinson as its first general counsel. Wilkinson has also worked as in-house counsel and fund administrator at Industri Kapital, the Sweden-based private equity house. At Abingworth, she will be responsible for deal coordination and will provide legal assistance to the life sciences team in its investment programme. Abingworth does not have a relationship with Slaughters. Its main external advisers are SJ Berwin and Travers Smith Braithwaite. Abingworth has funds under management of close to $400m (£258.9m).
