Chester-headquartered Aaron & Partners has added its tenth equity partner through the appointment of family lawyer Richard Barge.
Barge has been head of family law at the firm since joining from FBC Manby Bowdley in 2010.
Over the last three years, Barge has doubled the size of the family law team from a team of three including two partners and a junior lawyer, to a team of six including three partners, an associate, a solicitor and a paralegal.
The Chester firm, which also has offices in Shrewsbury and Manchester, has a total of 22 partners across six practice areas: employment, real estate, wills, litigation, family, and corporate and commercial. Its main clients are owner-managed businesses, SMEs, and entrepreneurs.
The firm enjoyed a good start to the 2013/14 financial year, with turnover up by 31 per cent for the first quarter of the year to £1.7m from £1.17m. The largest chunk of revenues was generated by the litigation team, which contributed £510,000 or 30 per cent.
Andy Duxbury, chief executive of Aarons and Partners, added that the commercial environment is “reasonably vibrant, with quite a lot of corporate activity and resurgence in property”.
