AAR increases global partner count by a dozen

Slaughter and May's best friend in Australia Allens Arthur Robinson (AAR) has announced its largest intake of new partners since 2001.

The 12 promotions, which will be effective from 1 July, are spread across five offices, including Melbourne, Bangkok and Beijing.

The promotions are in six departments: corporate and M&A; banking and finance; construction; energy, mining and resources; litigation and dispute resolution; intellectual property; and private equity.

Managing partner at AAR Tom Poulton said: "This is the largest intake of new partners since 2001. It's an expression of the confidence of the partnership in the next generation of the firm's future."

AAR's promotions come after The Lawyer revealed that Slaughters is extending its best friends group of law firms into Asia. AAR will play a key role in this process.
