Allen & Overy (A&O) has chosen the Spitalfields Market redevelopment as its new HQ and has placed a formal offer on the site
Spitalfields Development Group is understood to be submitting a revised planning application to Tower Hamlets Council in the next few days. A&O's decision will be one of the biggest prelets that the City has ever seen, and the deal will be shaped to minimise A&O's risk as and when it decides to become a limited-liability partnership. The decision marks a final rejection of British Land's 201 Bishopsgate scheme, which does not offer the basement space required by law firms.
