Allen & Overy (A&O) has appointed banking partner Brian Harrison as the regional managing partner for its Asian practice with effect from today (2 June). Harrison, who replaces Chris Roberts, will be based in Hong Kong and will also head that office. Harrison has been a partner at A&O since 1997 and launched the firms Canary Wharf office. In the past 12 months, Harrison has worked on the financing that allowed Network Rail to take over Railtrack and pay off the collapsed companys debts. He also led the team that advised Wembley National Stadium on the financing of the new national stadium. Harrison said: "It is an enormously exciting challenge to take on, given the success of the firms Asian offices over the past few years." Harrison will combine his new role with fee-earning work.
