Allen & Overy has appointed lateral hire David Kidd to head its Asian business restructuring and insolvency group. Kidd joined eighteen months ago from CMS Cameron McKenna. He will replace group head Mark Sterling, who will return to London. The group comprises lawyers in Singapore, Bangkok, Tokyo and Hong Kong. Kidd is based in Hong Kong, where his former firm has now scaled back its office to an insurance practice. Sterling, who has built up the practice over the last five and a half years, said: "David is a formidable lawyer and we are confident that, under his guidance, the practice will go from strength to strength."
