Tulkinghorn is ashamed to admit that his young scribes had to fall on back on the undeniably wily nature of a DLA partner in Barcelona to further the night's entertainment. Two of the more inebriated male scribes tried not once, but twice, to gain admission to a local dancing venue, only to be turned away by sneering bouncers.
The white knight DLA partner was not to be so easily deterred, however. Grabbing an attractive female journalist from The Lawyer, he told her to flash her most winning smile at one bouncer while he bunged the other a e20 sweetener. Amazingly, it worked: the bouncer trousered the money and the whole group, including the pissed and staggering (not to mention staggered) boys from The Lawyer, made it past the door. Top man.
