Today’s big breaking story is the takeover of Russell Jones & Walker (RJW) by Slater & Gordon, which was itself the first ever law firm to list.
Coming just one week after the takeover of PI outfit Silverbeck Rymer, and further pre-IPO moves by Irwin Mitchell, the Slater & Gordon deal reaffirms the transformation of consumer-facing legal services.
RJW - which also owns Claims Direct - wants to be number one in family, employment and personal injury on the high street, and now it’s got the financial backing to do it.
