Law firms don't half like to trumpet the work they do for charity. And so they should. All those hours spent painting buildings and digging gardens must be good for the soul.
But Tulkinghorn was amused to hear recently of an event devoted to baking cakes, which saw the partners of the firm in question don aprons and get to grips with a sieve and spatula instead of a contract.
Sadly, for one partner this was a recipe for disaster.
The wannabe Gordon Ramsay found the role of master baker too much to handle, and in a fit of pique garroted his gateaux.
