Liverpool set 7 Harrington Street and St Johns Buildings in Manchester are establishing an association to allow their silks to be members of both sets. St Johns and 7 Harrington have three and seven silks respectively, but the unique partnership will bring together a total of more than 160 barristers specialising in criminal, family, civil and commercial law. Head of 7 Harrington David Steer QC said: “It isn’t in the form of an amalgamation, simply that our silks will be members of both sets. This is the first type of association on that scale and we feel it’s mutually beneficial.” The association will become effective from 1 February.
