Leading common and public law set 39 Essex Street has swooped on Eldon Chambers. Five barristers led by highly-rated senior junior John Pugh-Smith - almost a fifth of the set's tenants - will decamp from Eldon to create a 12-strong environment and planning group at 39 Essex Street in the largest single influx of practitioners the set has seen. The five practitioners are: Martin Edwards, Richard Harwood, Pugh-Smith, Stephen Tromans (formerly a solicitor with Simmons & Simmons), and Christiaan Zwart. Eldon Chambers was unavailable for comment at the time of going to press.
