The Lawyer In-House Attitudes Report 2013 — sample
In March this year, The Lawyer, in association with Thomson Reuters Serengeti, surveyed more than 1,000 general counsel and senior lawyers working in business about the seismic changes that are affecting the legal sector.
The results of the research were presented exclusively to delegates at the General Counsel Strategy Summit, which took place in Portugal at the end of April.
The data, supplemented by follow-up interviews, forms the basis of The Lawyer In-House Attitudes Report 2013, an in-depth analysis of the changing face of the corporate legal function and its relationship with private-practice law firms.
The report looks at key metrics around size of team, budget, challenges, frustration with private practice, evaluation and feedback of law firms and use of performance-related pay across the key sectors of banking and finance, government, insurance, information technology, media and manufacturing. Some of the key themes to emerge include the increasingly broad remit and strategic role of general counsel, the importance of the legal function given an increasingly regulated business environment and the pressure on in-house teams to cover more ground on tighter budgets.
The Lawyer In-House Attitudes Report is a key read for anyone who wants to build long-term, strategic relationships with lawyers working in business…
