3 Serjeants' Inn appoints new joint head

Medical, police and employment law specialist set 3 ­Serjeants’ Inn has ­elected John Beggs QC as its new joint head of chambers, replacing Robert Francis QC.

Francis will continue to practise from 3 Serjeants’ Inn. Beggs will fulfil the role ­alongside ­incumbent James Watson QC.

Beggs was called to the bar in 1989, taking silk this year. He is an employment silk with experience acting for both claimants and ­respondents and has a specialism defending police forces in race, sex and ­religious discrimination claims.
