Bird & Bird has announced a 29.7 per cent increase in gross revenue for the 2008-09 financial year.
Total turnover at the technology and IP-focused firm grew to £186.3m from £143.7m for the previous year.
The firm said that 9 per cent of the increase in revenue could be put down to the considerable expansion it has undergone recently.
Over the past year the firm has opened in Finland via a merger with Fennica Attorneys and has also set up offices in the Czech Republic, Hungary, Poland, Shanghai and Slovakia.
The firm also merged with London firm Lane & Partners and entered into a global association with Alban Tay Mahtani & de Silva in Singapore.
Organic growth in existing locations accounted for 12 per cent of the growth, the firm said.
Bird & Bird also revealed that its sterling figures were enhanced by the strength of the euro against the pound. This boosted revenue by around 9 per cent and also improved profitability.
Average profit per equity partner at the firm stood at £481,000 last year, a drop of 6.5 per cent compared with the previous year’s figure of £515,000.
