2006, the next generation

It’s official. Law firms have entered the 21st Century. Well, Addleshaw Goddard, Linklaters and Watson Farley & Williams have.

The latter two firms have begun to blog. Watson Farley’s 12 trainees will take it in turns to write a weekly blog about the work they’ve been involved in and the firm’s training and social activities.

Linklaters will also have blogs from trainees and LPC students and a virtual tour of its Silk Street headquarters.

Addleshaws, meanwhile, has launched what it is understood to be the first trainee podcast. Students can find out what life’s really like at the firm by downloading podcasts onto their iPods.

Snail, who has been a tadslow at embracing the technology revolution can only wonder what firms will try next to attract the best trainees. Free quill pens?
