2003 sees £4m paid out to discrimination victims

Compensation of more than £4m was paid out by employers last year in compensation for sex, race and disability discrimination cases. The figures are published in the Equal Opportunities Review, which examines discrimination cases in England and Wales. There were 376 successful cases brought to employment tribunals, 37 less than in 2002. Total compensation was also less, although 2002 saw record payments.
