  • Not sure why they are complaining, 500 is still an absudly high number and it's likely to drop to more like 50 in the near future.

  • "...a detrimental effect on solicitors and on members of the public". Why does Halifax need to consider the detriment to solicitors? Especially ahead of detriment to the public. And how is it a detriment to solictors to give the work to other solicitors. Not a great advert for the Law Society of Scotland.

  • Correct me if I am wrong - but the LSS is there to promote the interest of all of its members. Why shouldn't it make representations on behalf of high street solicitors and those that use them who will be adversely affected by the Nationwide's decision.

  • seperate legal representative for borrower and lender eliminates fraud and gives the consumer the choice of using any solicitor. why not require that the same solicitor cannot represent bank and customer?
