Turnover was static last year at Thomson Snell & Passmore, coming in at £13.9m for the second consecutive year.
While commercial work is traditionally strong for Thomson Snell, the firm also saw new cases coming into its chemical poisoning and asbestos practice. The Tunbridge Wells-based firm also advised a number of schools wishing to convert to an academy under the coalition government’s Academies Act 2010.
Thomson Snell increased its number of fee-earners from 84 to 97, and lawyer headcount also crept up slightly from 68 to 71.
Among the senior ranks, commercial property lawyer Josephine Willoughby and private client specialist Brian Bacon were promoted to partnership. This brought the total partner headcount to 35. Joanna Pratt, partner in the family sector, was promoted to equity status.
