Aberdeen-based Paull & Williamsons makes its debut in The Lawyer’s UK 200 with a turnover of £13.9m. The firm is best known for its energy group. In the past year head of oil and gas, partner Bruce McLeod, advised on the merger between Silverstone and Bridge Energy. He also counts BP as a key client.
Paull & Williamsons’ 29 partners produced a revenue per partner of £479,000, while its 51 lawyers generated on average £273,000 apiece.
The firm’s employment team is also seen as a key practice, with Paull & Williamsons picking up a five-year contract to provide employment legal services to the Robert Gordon University in March.
The firm is loyal to its roots, with chairman Gordon Buchan combining his day job advising those in the energy sector with a role as a director of Aberdeen FC.
