Turnover (£m): 14.7
RPL (£k): 199
Last year Collyer Bristow’s turnover returned to £14.7m, a level it last reported in 2007-08. This represented a growth of 8 per cent on the £13.6m posted in 2009-10.
Nevertheless, senior partner John Saner said the firm had been careful with its spending, with recruitment strategically focused on key areas such as dispute resolution and private client.
The London-based firm did bulk up its number of fee-earners, from 65 to 76, and lawyer headcount rose from 45 to 60. Recruiting a significant number of quality assistants was in line with the firm’s strategy, said Saner.
Collyer Bristow is intent on growing international work, which it expects to form a higher proportion of its turnover in the near future. International work amounted to approximately 8 per cent of turnover 10 years ago. This figure is now nearer to 30 per cent.
The media and sport sectors are also proving to be rewarding for the firm, especially on the reputation management side. Collyer Bristow currently acts for Glasgow Rangers FC.
