Reed Smith has continued to expand its London energy and natural resources practice with a hire from SNR Denton.
Brett Hillis, a partner in SNR Denton’s London office, joins Reed Smith as a partner today (16 May). Hillis focuses on energy trading and derivatives, regulatory and related transactional work, advising banks and energy companies.
“We’ve always had experts in derivatives, but we want to make the investment to grow in the energy commodity derivatives and regulatory space and Hillis’ appointed will complement this and create an enhanced offering to the market,” said Reed Smith partner Kyri Evagora. “Our ambition is to be the go-to firm for energy and natural resources.”
Hillis’ appointment closely follows the hire of a team of associates from Pinsent Masons. Lynne Davy, Elinor Crowther and Shareena Edmonds all joined Reed Smith’s energy projects group in April, as did associate Joseph Otoo, who joined from Systech International.
