Herbert Smith is bolstering its Middle East disputes practice by relocating London partner Stuart Paterson to Dubai.
Paterson will work alongside disputes partner Craig Shepherd, who transferred to Dubai from London two years ago (27 April 2007).
The firm’s disputes head Sonya Leydecker said: “Since setting up two years ago our disputes team in the UAE has developed a highly credible and successful practice and Stuart’s move will undoubtedly help us to further develop this capability.”
Paterson’s practice focuses on large-scale commercial disputes and he has also done a lot of corporate fraud and asset tracing work.
Herbert Smith’s Middle Eastern disputes practice counts Dubai Aluminium Company, Emirates Telecommunications Corporation, Tata, Marubeni and Millennium Finance Corporation among its clients.
