One Crown Office Row will elect a new head of chambers this autumn after the long-serving Robert Seabrook QC stepped down from the role.
Seabrook is standing down in October after 14 years as head of 1 Crown Office Row, which now has 87 tenants and a turnover of more than £13m.
Seabrook told fellow tenants: "I have no intention of retiring and my successor can be sure of my total support and availability to help him or her, or indeed any of you, in any way I can - my door will remain open."
Next year Seabrook becomes treasurer of the Middle Temple and decided it would be difficult to juggle the role of head of chambers with that of treasurer and maintain his practice.
Elections for Seabrook's replacement will take place in September.
